Indigenous Peoples Day 2019 happens across Canada on June 21 and members of the community are hoping the federal government will make this a national holiday. Chief Harvey Underwood of the Tsawout Nation is looking forward to this announcement. He sees this as part of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s venture which demands that government recognize the First Nations Peoples of Canada.
